

Louise Phelps, 93, of Lake Mary, Florida passed away on May 8, 2016. She was born in Lampart, Jamaica, West Indies to her loving parents, James and Bernetta Calder. She emigrated to the U.S. in 1965, where she worked as a nursing attendant for over 50 years in New York City. She moved to Florida with her family in 1997, and has resided here up until her passing. Louise was an outstanding cook, this was her greatest passion!!. She was a loving and dedicated woman to her family and friends and loved nothing more than serving them. She visited the Longwood Senior Center twice a week, and loved playing cards and volunteering. She also enjoyed traveling, having visited many countries over the years. She is survived by her four children: Corlis, Tyrone, Courtney, and Doreen, eight grandchildren: Lorraine, Winston, Cary, Rebecca, Kevin, Verone, Mark and Kristina. She also leaves behind eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. The family has planned a Visitation for Friday, May 20, 2016, 5pm to 7pm at Baldwin-Fairchild Oaklawn Chapel. A Funeral Service is planned for Saturday, May 21, 2016, 10am, at Baldwin-Fairchild Oaklawn Chapel with a Committal Service to immediately follow at Oaklawn Park Cemetery.
