Just heard about Lynda .. So very sorry such a sudden loss.  Know you are so missing her.  You have so many special memories that will keep her close. May our Father keep you in His hands ❤

Lynda lit up the stage whenever she was on it - and she was always on it!  She gave her joy to everyone.  Of all the faces and voices in the Bach Choir, it was Lynda's that stood out to us, we loved to watch her be joyful.   She was also a cherished player in the cello section, right before I had to announce at Maitland Symphony Orchestra concerts, she would give me a wink and a funny face that would make me laugh and relax before approaching the audience.  God used Lynda to spread her joy to so many.  We were all blessed by her.

  Lynda had so much joy in fulfilling her dreams.   It was almost (as Dr. Seuss has suggested) that she had invented a light that plugged into the sun!
  She was dedicated to helping the cello section of the Maitland Symphony orchestra improve and grow.    
   We had frequent emails and phone conversations about beautiful music and ways to make rehearsals more effective and fun.
   She was truly a beacon of light to all who knew her.  I am deeply saddened to have lost a much loved friend and fellow musician.

I'm so grateful for these friends.  They remind me of how connected we are - that connection becomes a safety net and a source of great hope when we are suffering.    That connection is made stronger as we share life and love and commitment and as we take each event as it comes.  We learn from each other and we draw on our shared strength.  Together we are able to be stronger, more hopeful, more whole than we'd be alone.  I'm deeply grateful that these friends are among those who have supported me for decades - who have made me more whole.   Lynda was so gifted and so generous in sharing her gifts, love, and energy.   She's gone too soon - way too soon.  Mac, we love you, Lynda, Troy, and Adam.  You and your whole precious family will continue to be in our hearts and prayers.

I did not know Lynda a long time. Although I met her at the Maitland Symphony, I got to know her better when the Baroque Chamber Orchestra was formed.  She and I sat together and I enjoyed her enthusiasm for playing the cello, and she kept things lively with her comments and quips!  Lynda is sorely missed -

My heart is still full of grief and shock--even after the beautiful service at Knowles Chapel with the inspired tributes to Lynda thru both word and music.  Such a huge hole remains where a bright sparkling person once shone. Tho' I know she sparkles on I will miss her so very much as will her legions of friends and family.  May God's blessing and power be with us all as we remember and celebrate our dear Lynda.

Lynda was one of the warmest, most energetic people I've ever met. I think the first time I met her I was visiting the house. She made me feel welcome, she always had great food, and she always had me take some home. She raised Troy, whom I consider to be a great friend. My only regret is that I did not go out of my way to spend more time with her.

Lynda was such a good friend and partner at St. Marks Episcopal Day School.  I was the art teacher and she was the music teacher. She loved drama with music. I remember countless hours working thru how we could get Peter Pan to fly across the stage. She was passionate about everything she was involved in and you would get caught up in her energy. Even though I have only known Lynda the last couple of years, it felt like I knew her my whole life. We had many common  interests and loved playing together in the Baroque group.  She is and will continue to be missed...he smile, laughter, and friendship.

AT the service we were asked for two words - and to be grateful.  I am so very grateful to have a part of this amazing women in my heart forever I cannot express it.  My words - Graceful listener - she always wanted to know about our lives - and really cared. Lynda was one of the first to make me feel welcome at the podium of the MSO.  She always had a smile when I looked over to the cello section - sometimes an impish smile as if she were up to something really funny, which she often was.  I don't think I ever saw her without a big smile on her face!  I will miss her greatly.

Lynda was a woman of courage, grace, compassion, gratitude, talent, love, and good fun. Her presence is still felt where she lived and played. Memories of her will never fade.

Lynda taught me how to live life fully, sometimes through her words, through her actions, through her spontaneous dance, through her music and through her food and through how she love and respect Mac. I can't wait to see you again Lynda. I love you and miss you very much. I will remember her life especially with those 5 words. "Live love laugh like Lynda."

I was a witness to Lynda's spirit of serving her fellow musicians, working with her on the committee of the Bach Festival Choir.  I joined (the committee) only a few short months ago, but in that time it was evident to me that Lynda was a driving force in the events of the organization.  I can only imagine the many great successes she had prior to this chapter.  I am sorry that I knew her only for so short a time and wish her family peace.  May you find strength and support from your family and friends who loved her so dearly.

Lynda, I never told you the things I love about you, so I will now. 

I love that you were involved in so many things with your music, book club, horses, dog showing, gardening, cooking, etc. You did things 100%. If I ever had a question about something you had tried your hand at, you could give me great advice. 

I loved your smile, how you'd laugh and your eyebrows would lift up and your voice would get kind of high-pitched. 

Thank you for all the times you had us over to your house. I love your house. I loved being your guest. You were such a sweet, attentive, welcoming hostess. I loved your cooking. I couldn't wait to try what you made because it was always good. You put in the hard work that I'm too lazy to do to make amazing dishes. Thank you for the wine tastings in your little port glasses. Thank you for all the wonderful conversations. Thank you for not hating me when I brought Rufio to your house immediately after adopting him, and he pooped on your carpet. Daisy asked me this week if we can go to your house. She loves it too. 

Thank you for always singing. I love your singing. I love that you sang whatever popped into your head - like Jack of Diamonds, inadvertently giving away Adam's hand during a cutthroat Liverpool Rummy game. I remember you singing clues for the game Taboo, which was an ingenious way to keep from saying the buzz words. My last memory of you was singing Let it Go for Hannah right before Christmas. You came in with the harmony, and I wasn't keeping the melody well to begin with, so we didn't sound that great, but it was fun. 

My favorite singing memory was singing Be Thou My Vision at your house one night. Daisy started us off, and we all sang along, and there may have even been a few tears. 

I hate that none of this will happen again. I feel sad, but I feel even more sad for Mac. You guys were two peas in a pod. I can't say his name without saying, and Lynda. I know your kids and grandkids are hurting too. 

As Daisy told me earlier this week, Maybe Aunt Lynda wants to learn about things with God now. This is part of the gift of salvation, that we will get to see you again. 

Thank you for all the wonderful memories. You gave yourself freely others, and we were blessed by it. I miss you and love you.

We remember your mother, who visited the Mitaka church in Tokyo, just on the  first day, we attended the church as well and stayed for lunch in Shiomitsu's house. We are deeply sorry for her sudden death.

I was so stunned on Lynda's passing it took me a few days to gather my thoughts. She was a wonderful friend.
We traveled together to horse shows with Lynda as my scribe. It was always an adventure. We shared common interests music, literature, film and of course, horses, which is where we met at the local stable. I will miss her more than words can describe but I know she is riding in the fields of Heaven and singing in the Heavenly Choir

Mac, I only met Lynda twice, but her spirit shined through, and she made an impression on me as a very energetic, kind person. I am sorry for your family's loss.

So shocked to hear the horrible news of Lynda's death.  She was a very special person with many talents taken way too soon.  I have many sweet memories of her with her horse.  Will miss her!  You and her family are in my thoughts and prayers.

I have no doubt that Lynda is joyfully singing with the angels and feeling pure love as she is one with God.  We on the other hand are missing her deeply and feeling an emptiness that only mourning and memories can fill. Lynda was a good friend and colleague when we worked together at St. Mark's Episcopal Day School in Jacksonville.  Not only in the classroom, but so often, these children felt her musical talent as she taught them how to use music in guitar, song, and other avenues to make their lives rich beyond the classroom.  They caught her energy and held onto it.  She brought life to her music and to the lives of all around her.  I know she will be missed.

My thoughts have been with Lynda's family.  I will miss her in the cello section of the Orange City Orchestra.  She has been so helpful and supporting to my new adventure.

I loved to laugh with Lynda. Her sense of humor and willingness to giggle was infectious. I once hit her in the head with a bottle of water full of ice (by accident, of course) and it sent us both into peals of laughter--go figure! After riding Gun and Flyboy, we'd sit at the barn on summer evenings for hours and talk and laugh. She used to double us both over with her stories of teaching kids to play music or sing (no names, of course!). Great days. She had a huge heart and was always willing to come to the aid of a friend: I broke my leg when I moved to Virginia and Lynda came to stay with me for almost a week while I got my act together. Not something I will ever forget. I thought she was one of the most gracious people I have known and I will miss her but I am so grateful that she was my friend. My heart goes out to Mac and her sons because I know their loss is even greater.

My mom shared the news, I am so sorry to hear of your loss, and I share my grief with the rest of the Riverside Presbyterian Church community who knew her and treasure her and her family. I've only known Lynda from the Maitland Symphony as a fellow member of the cello section. She was always so welcoming, so friendly, and always had a smile. We will miss her terribly and it's going to be very hard to play without her in her chair. And who's going to sing that high F in Rudolph now? Thank you God for putting Lynda into my life. Memories of her will always be cherished.

It is hard to express the pain of losing my dear, dear friend and musical muse. I have such fun memories of our musical treats and adventures, a few musical disasters, and much laughter.  Lynda's passion for life was intense; loving  her husband, Mac, her children and her grandchildren; her music, her horses, her gardening, her cooking and her friends.  She simply delighted in life and she shared her delight with everyone she met.  She shared her passions enthusiastically and brought others along with her infectious zeal.   My life is so much richer because she was in it.  My sincere condolences.  Lynda, dahling, you will be sorely missed.

Mary and I were deeply saddened to hear about Lynda's death.  She was always so positive and affirming with us and toward others.  She and Mac had outstanding ministries to hundreds of kids through their Young Life work in Orlando, Gainesville and Jacksonville.  Our prayers are with Mac and the family.

While Lynda and Tina shared their common interest in reading, movies, and horse stuff, I enjoyed her wit and overall good sense of humor. She was a good friend to us all and will be missed.

I still can't believe she's gone. And I know you all feel the same. I have missed her lovely smile and great sense of humor ever since the move to Sanford. Lynda sat next to me in choir for many years, taught me much about choral singing, and we shared many a laugh through the years! She always sang the first verse of "Once in Royal David's City" for our Christmas Eve services at Riverside. The recordings I have of that and her other solos are now even more treasured! May peace be with you all during your time of grief, and may you find solace in the knowledge that Lynda is in the arms of our Savior, waiting to greet us one day when we arrive there.

I loved singing with Lynda- she was always in tune and made all of us at MEIC sound better (we are not the Bach Chorale.) I loved hearing her perform. We shared a love of horses. The quality I admired most about Lynda was her kindness

Lynda was a great aunt and will be forever missed by the entire Hammond family. I'll always remember her exciting new dishes, her beautiful voice, and her sense of humor. She lived life to the fullest and it is a comfort to think of her now face to face with Jesus, singing with the angels.
