Manuel Bolaños was a very special husband, father, brother, and friend. He is now home in his Heavenly Father’s arms. Manuel had a heart for serving his Lord at church, through ministries at prisons and a nursing home, and mission trips to Peru. He also served the homeless and was willing to help anyone hurting. His dedication to his family and many friends was remarkable.
Born in Houston, Texas, he achieved in school and served in the Air Force before moving to Florida. Always a hard worker, he also attended Orlando Junior College and graduated from UCF with both a bachelor’s and master’s degree. He was employed at Seminole Community (State) College for most of his teaching career. He developed the ESOL (English for Speakers of other Languages) program while also teaching English, Oral Communication, and Journalism. His love for students was evident, both through his teaching career and serving his church’s youth.
After retiring, he worked for the Lord and helped homeschool and coach tennis to his children Luke and Bethany. His much adored role was being “Papi” to his grandson Judah. His stepson Kristopher credits Manuel with helping him navigate his teenage years into adulthood.
Manuel was married to Vicki and they enjoyed over 34 years of shared love and friendship. Vicki, in addition to Bethany, her husband Jimmy and their son Judah, Luke, and Kristopher, will continue his legacy.
He will be greatly missed by many, but we are grateful to God that he is finally home.
