Maryanne Morse

Maryanne Morse, 73, of Lake Mary, passed away at her home Tuesday, March 6, 2018. She was born in Madison, Wisconsin on July 23, 1944, the daughter of Herbert and Winifred Hipp. She graduated from Janesville High School in 1962 and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Rollins College in 1980. First elected in 1988, Maryanne served as Seminole County Clerk of the Courts for 28 years and was well loved and respected by her staff. Her innovations were nationally recognized and emulated. Prior to her election as Clerk of Courts she worked as Comptroller for Whitaker Oil and Gas Properties and Vice-President of Whitaker Energy. Maryanne loved the Republican Party, serving first as Vice Chairman, Secretary and National Committeewoman of the Florida Federation of Young Republicans and later as Secretary and National Committeewoman for the Republican Party of Florida. She was a friend, advisor and mentor to many political leaders. Maryanne loved her dogs and was a member of the Schutzhund Club of Orlando for more than 20 years. In her free time, she enjoyed dog training, civil war history and adding to her incredible Dickens Christmas Village collection. Maryanne leaves to cherish her memory God-daughter Reagan Johnson, Kelley Wells (like a daughter), and sister-in-law Kris Hipp. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother John Hipp of Janesville, Wisconsin. A fellowship time for friends and family will be held Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Central Baptist Church, 3101 FL-46, Sanford, from 1:00 to 4:00. Services will begin at 2:00 pm. A private burial will follow in Oaklawn Park Cemetery of Sanford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shutzhund Club of Orlando. Envelopes will be available at the service or can be mailed to 2447 South Bay Avenue, Sanford, FL 32771.

Maryanne, You were a force to be reckon with and yet underneath you had a heart of gold. Seminole County citizens are thankful to have had you looking out for them for 28 years.
