Matthew “Matt” Allen left our world to be with the Lord on April 8th, 2018. He passed away in his sleep at his home in Winter Park, FL. Born August 8th, 1988, Matt was 29 years young.

He is now watching over his father, David and step-mother Rita, as-well-as his siblings, Kate, Melissa, and Paul, his brother-in-law, Chris, and his niece Haven. Matt has reunited with his mother, Wendy.

“Matt time” didn’t start before noon, but once his day begun, he lived a life full of laughter and love, friendship and fearlessness, hugs and humor. As one of the biggest Tampa Bay Buccaneers fans, you would always see Matt in his Bucs jersey. He was an avid golfer who loved spending time out on the course, a bonding experience he learned from his father. While he was always the biggest personality in the room, he would make sure you knew he cared about you and that you were having the best time.

Services will be held for Matt on Thursday, April 19th from 5 to 7pm at Baldwin-Fairchild Oaklawn Chapel in Sanford. Come as you are. No need for suit and tie (unless that’s your thing), as Matt would want you to be as comfortable as possible. A reception at Mayfair Country Club will follow.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, you bring scratch-off lottery tickets, as this was the gift Matt always bought for the family White Elephant Christmas Present exchange. He would often end up choosing his own gift, with hopes of winning it big. The winnings will go to the Arnold Palmer Foundation, a charity in-which Matt volunteered for each year through Bay Hill.

A formal mass will be held on Friday, April 20th at 10am at Nativity Catholic Church in Longwood. All are welcome.
