Mickie E. Simmons

Mickie E. Simmons, 31, passed away on September 14, 2016 at his home in Sanford, Florida. He was born on September 8, 1985 in Tampa, Florida to Cathleen R. Daly and Mark E. Simmons. Mickie has resided in Florida his whole life, living in both Bradenton and Sanford. For the past 16 years he has been a loyal employee at Picerne Development.

Mickie will always be remembered as a gentle soul who was loyal, compassionate and caring. He was humble and loved everyone, he did not hate. He lived with what he needed and appreciated all that was given to him. He had a powerful impact on all those he came in contact with, always leaving them with a smile. Mickie was a devoted son who loved his mother and his family with a love beyond any in this world. He was the best big brother to Brandi, who he loved immensely. He was blessed to be an uncle to William. Mickie was a wonderful example of how to truly show love.

Mickie was an avid basketball player and sports fan. When not playing sports he also enjoyed music and loved playing the guitar and keyboard; he even played in the band “Undeserved”. When not participating in sports or music, Mickie would fill some of his free time with computer games and playing on his X-Box.

He is survived by his mother Cathy Daly, Step Father Patrick Daly, Father Mark Simmons, Grandparents Florence Fish and Albert Fish, Siblings Brandi Abbott, Sterling Daly and Greyson Daly along with nephew William Abbott. Mickie also leaves behind 7 Uncles, 7 Aunts, 31 cousins and a multitude of friends and co-workers who will miss him dearly.

A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 from 12:00pm to 1:00pm at Baldwin-Fairchild Oaklawn Chapel. A funeral service will begin at 1:00pm following the visitation. A graveside service will take place at Oaklawn Park Cemetery on Wednesday at 2:00pm.

The family would like to thank everyone for their kind words and prayers during this difficult time. They hope everyone takes this time to remember Mickie and use him as an example on how to love always.
