Nancy Alyse Genslinger, 59, of Lake Mary, Florida, went to be with the Lord on September 13, 2023. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on November 22, 1963.
Nancy graduated from DeLand High School in 1981 and attended Seminole Community College and the Community College of the Air Force. She honorably served over five years in the U.S. Air Force achieving the rank of Sergeant, worked as a Morse Systems Operator and Operations System Management Specialist while stationed in Italy, South Carolina, and South Korea, and was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal, the Air Force Achievement Medal with one oak leaf cluster, and the Air Force Good Conduct Medal.
She married the love of her life, Richard ‘Rich’ Genslinger, on August 13, 1987, at Osan Air Base, South Korea. Together they raised their three sons while Rich completed his Air Force service at assignments in Maryland, Italy, England, and Germany. As a devoted wife and homemaker, Nancy made sure each home where they were stationed was filled with love. Even though she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1995, she continued to love and support her boys in all their various activities. When Rich retired from the Air Force in 2001, she was the driving force for moving the family to Lake Mary to encourage deeper family connections.
Nancy was a member of Central Baptist Church, Sanford, Florida, where she served in the Women’s Ministry and on the Property and Space Committee. She had a passion for Christ, hosting family gatherings and get-togethers, fashion, and home design and had a love for flowers, the color purple, and animals. Her hobbies included watching Tampa Bay Rays baseball, Wheel of Fortune and Hallmark movies, visiting lighthouses, completing jigsaw puzzles, and collecting seashells.
She was preceded in death by her father, Reverend George Edward Dunn, Sr., her brother, George Edward ‘Eddie’ Dunn, Jr., and her beloved cat Kelsea.
She is survived by her devoted husband Rich, their three sons Michael, Matthew, and Ryan, daughter-in-law Kirsten, and grandson Lincoln; her mother Beverly Dunn, sister Melissa Moir-Dunn and sister-in-law Marlyn Moir; sister-in-law Jeanette Dunn, and two nephews Justin and Conner; sister-in-law Karen Genslinger; sister-in-law Kathe Butler, and niece Kaila Smith, her husband Tyler Smith, and their daughter Ella Jean; numerous cousins and friends, her caregiver of five years Veronica Sanchez, and her precious cat Salera.
