Ann was known for her kind-hearted, loving nature and her welcoming spirit to everyone she met. She will always be remembered for her complementary and encouraging nature. She always spoke positively of everyone. Her love for people and friends was genuine where she willingly wanted to give of her time, effort and energy for the sake of others, and not for herself. It has been said by many that she is probably one of the most generous and giving people you will ever meet. There is always a smile on her face and a warm hand or hug.
Ann spoke and wrote fluent Spanish which she learned while living in Colonia, Uruguay, South America and enjoyed teaching others the language. She was also proficient in Calligraphy and wrote most of her cards and letters using her beautiful penmanship. Ann loved cats and shared her love with many during her lifetime.
She loved to entertain friends and family in her home, graciously hosting many dinners and parties. When she attended a dinner or party that she did not host, she never came empty-handed, always bringing the hosts a gift. After every visit, she would script the most beautifully written card or letter expressing her gratitude, highlighting every detailed moment of her visit.
Ann loved making crafts of all kind especially jewelry, 3D art, greeting cards and sewing. She also sold and repaired jewelry as her small business. Most recently, she decorated keepsake boxes for some of her closest friends for their birthdays. Many times, she made jewelry to support fund-raising efforts for her favorite clubs and organizations.
She was a member of the Lake Forest Ladies Birthday Group, Lake Forest Women’s Club, Seminole Spokes, Inc.; P.E.O a philanthropic organization that promotes educational opportunities for women, Lake Forest Women’s Bible Study and Kiwanis
Ann had a very fulfilling career beginning in Orange Park, FL as the secretary to Don Guy, a property developer who developed the Grove Park neighborhood in Orange Park. She was also the Executive Assistant to the Tournament Director of the TPC at Sawgrass. While there, she had the opportunity to meet legends such as Bob Hope, Jack Nicholas, Arnold Palmer and Gary Player. After moving to Miami, Ann worked as the Executive Secretary and interpreter to the President of Southeast Mortgage in charge of Latin affairs, and later as the Executive Secretary to the president of First National, a private bank in Palm Beach on Worth Ave. While in Miami, it is there that she met Abe and began building their life together.
