

Paul L. Baker passed in the early hours of Saturday, June 23, 2018. He was 77. He is survived by his beloved wife, Carol G. Baker, who he affectionately called his “Love Baby Love” 4 children, Theresa, Brian, Kristine, and Brooke; 7 grandchildren, Delaney, Knox, Lucy, Alyssa, Cole, Chase, and Rylee.
Originally from Jasper, Alabama, Paul joined the Navy at the age of 17, serving 2 tours in Vietnam. As a UDT later known as Navy Seals, he was awarded a Navy Cross, Purple Heart, and a Silver and Bronze Star. He loved Alabama football, his 12 yr. old McCallan Scotch, and anything that had to do with history.
Paul proudly served as a General Manager in the Automobile Industry for over 40 years. He ran several of the largest automotive dealerships throughout his career, Lovingly nicknamed Mr. B, Mr. Paul and Chance – a nick name so appropriate to his managerial and leadership style as he gave chances over and over again to many budding professionals. He touched and influenced the lives of countless men and women by his compassion… and he believed that a true leader could bring out the best of people! A man with a giant personality and a huge generous heart, Paul will be dearly missed and remembered anytime someone yells… “ROLL TIDE”!
