Peter Angelakis, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully in his home on June 23, 2026, with his wife of 38 years by his side. He was 93 years old. Born on January 5, 1933, in Peabody, Massachusetts, Peter was the son of George Angelakis of Perivolia, Greece, and Eleni Souliotis Angelakis of Haverhill, Massachusetts.
An entrepreneur at heart, Peter built and managed several businesses over the course of his life, demonstrating the drive, resilience, and independence that defined him. Yet for all his accomplishments in business, Peter was always clear about what mattered most: his family was, without question, the great priority of his life.
On June 25, 1988, Peter married Jane Elizabeth Ashley of Chester, England, beginning a partnership that would span nearly four decades. Jane was his constant companion, in joy and in sorrow, through moves and new beginnings. The couple spent their early years of marriage in Gloucester, Massachusetts, before settling in Lake Mary, Florida, where they have made their home for over thirty years. Theirs was a warm, loving, and deeply supportive marriage, and together they cultivated lifelong friendships in every community they called home.
Peter and Jane shared many passions, among them tennis and golf. In his later years, Peter enthusiastically joined Jane as a devoted supporter of England’s Manchester City Football Club.
Peter was equally devoted to his children and grandchildren. He eagerly awaited calls from his family, excited for news of their school days, their sports matches, their trials, and their triumphs. He was their most steadfast cheerleader and their fiercest protector, a constant presence and an unwavering source of love and encouragement.
Peter is survived by his beloved wife, Jane; his son George Angelakis and wife Cheryl; George’s children, Garrett Angelakis, Katie Angelakis and Katie’s son Cain. Also, Peter’s youngest son Michael Angelakis and wife Christine; and their three children, Demetra Angelakis Pearson and her husband John Pearson III, Luke Angelakis, and Marker Angelakis.
Peter was preceded in death by his sister, Catherine Apostolides and brothers, Theodore, and Charles. Also his son, James “Jimmy” Angelakis, who passed at seven years of age. Peter carried the loss of Jimmy with grace and love throughout his life, as only a father can.
Peter Angelakis lived 93 years with intention, strength, and love. He was a man rooted in his faith, his heritage, and above all, his family. He was known by everyone he met as a kind and most generous man. Peter had a way of lifting people up regardless of their situation in life, and he will be profoundly missed and forever held in the hearts of all who knew him.
