Raymond A Parker

Raymond A Parker, 83, of Sanford passed away on February 6, 2018. Ray was born on September 23, 1934 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada; the son of Thomas and Grace Parker. Ray worked for Greyhound for many years as a bus driver and upon retirement he then became a delivery driver for Merit Fasteners. He moved to Florida from Montreal in 1977. Ray married his wife Dorothy on September 10, 1963; and they shared 46 years of marriage until her passing in 2009. He enjoyed puzzles, tinkering around his home, and spending time with family.

Ray is survived by his sons Tim Parker and his wife Emily of Nashville, Tennessee, Randy Parker of Florida, daughter Lynda Rable and her husband Jared of Eustis, Florida, four grandchildren Steven, Sarah, Ryan, and Cannon Parker. Barbara and John Mogensen (Coldsteam, BC), Ron Parker (Toronto, ON) and Rob and Shirley Parker (Toronto, ON). Ray was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Doug Parker. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018 from 12:00 to 1:00 pm at Baldwin Fairchild Oaklawn Chapel in Sanford. Services will begin at 1:00pm, with burial to follow in Oaklawn Park Cemetery. For those who wish, donations in lieu of flowers can be directed to the American Cancer Society or Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in Ray’s honor.

Raymond A Parker, 83, of Sanford passed away Tuesday, February 6th, 2018. Born and raised in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, the son of Thomas and Grace Parker. He is survived by his sons Tim Parker (Emily) and Randy Parker, daughter Lynda Rable (Jared), four grandchildren, his cousin Dawn Evely, his niece Barbara Mogensen (John), nephews Ron Parker, Rob Parker (Shirley), four grandnephews and two grandnieces.

Ray married his wife Dorothy on September 10, 1963; and they shared 46 years of marriage until her passing in 2009. Ray and his family moved to Florida from Montreal in 1977. Ray drove a Greyhound Bus for 25 years and upon retirement became a delivery driver for Merit Fasteners for another 10 years. Ray was an avid hockey fan and enjoyed watching his favorite team, the Montreal Canadiens. He also enjoyed puzzles, home projects, and spending time with family.
