Richard C. Williams, age 86, of Ohio, formerly of Kentucky, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on November 1, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on November 24, 1938, in Kentucky, Richard was a man whose life was filled with music, laughter, and a deep devotion to his family. After moving to Ohio, he built a life grounded in faith, hard work, and love.
Richard is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kathy Williams, with whom he shared a lifetime of cherished memories; his beloved stepson, Greg Patterson; his parents; and several of his brothers and sisters who went before him. He is lovingly remembered by his surviving sisters, Linda and Wilma Sue, who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
Together, Richard and Kathy raised a beautiful family and built a legacy of love that continues through their children: Diana Holtrup, Laura Lauricia, John Williams, Jeannie Marchiano, Creig Williams, and Jeff Patterson. He was a proud grandfather and great-grandfather to many, and his joy shone brightest when he was surrounded by them.
A talented musician, Richard found great happiness playing guitar in his bluegrass band, sharing his passion and bringing smiles to everyone who heard him play. He had a gift for storytelling and was known for his quick wit and good-natured sense of humor. His laughter was contagious, and his kind spirit touched the hearts of all who knew him.
More than anything, Richard loved being surrounded by his family. Whether strumming his guitar, telling jokes, or simply enjoying time together, he made every moment meaningful.
A funeral service honoring Richard’s life will be held on November 6, 2025, at Dignity Memorial.
Though he will be deeply missed, his family finds peace in knowing that Richard has been joyfully reunited in Heaven with his beloved Kathy, his stepson Greg, his parents, and his brothers and sisters who have gone before him—where music, laughter, and love never end.
