Rick was born on February 8, 1956 in Niskayuna, New York to the late Frank and Jane Varrone. His career was impressive. In high school, he learned skills that would lead him to make a generational impact on others by giving them hope. He was a classically trained apprentice who spent 48 years at the forefront of innovation in the prosthetic and orthotic field. He gave himself to his patients selflessly so they could lead normal lives.
In his spare time, he was an avid gardener who loved plants and florals and a talented craftsman who made custom knives and sheaths. He was also a hunter and fisherman who loved to travel. Above all, he was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and uncle who was dedicated to high family values.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Jane Varrone.
Survivors include the love of his life for 43 years, Jacqueline Varrone; children, Tera Varrone and Rick Varrone, Jr. (Lauren); brothers, Ray Varrone (Mary), Laurie Lainhart, and Randy Varrone (Christina); grandchildren, Willow Grace and Brandon, and host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 3:00-5:00 pm on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, 5000 CR 46A, Sanford, Florida 32771. A celebration of life service will follow at 5:00 pm. Rick will be laid to rest at a later date in Evergreen Cemetery, Schenectady, New York.
