Robert “Phil” Gould, 90, of Lake Mary, Florida, passed away on August 21, 2026.
Phil was born on June 28, 1936 in Silver Creek, New York. He graduated from Lockport High School in 1954.
Phil met his wife, Betsey, in 1952 and they were married on August 18, 1956. They were married for 70 years, had four children, three grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter. They lived in New York, Minnesota, Michigan, Indiana, and Florida.
Phil served honorably for 22 years with the United States Navy as an air traffic controller. He continued his service with the Federal Aviation Administration as an air traffic controller. Phil worked at Orlando International Airport beginning in 1975 and retired in 2001.
Phil had a life long love of aviation and felt most comfortable in the clouds flying small aircraft. When he wasn’t flying you could find him on a golf course enjoying sunny afternoons with friends. Phil was deep rooted in his faith and had a profound passion for studying the bible. He was a member and teacher for Bible Study Fellowship. He enjoyed teaching the scripture and sharing his wisdom of the bible with others. Most importantly, he taught his family how to be kind, gentle, humorous, faithful, and humble.
Phil was preceded in death by his son, Michael Gould, granddaughter, Taylor Grady, brother, Nelson Gould, Jr. and parents, Jean and Nelson Gould, Sr.
Phil is survived by his wife of 70 years, Betsey Gould, his son, Mark Gould (Jenny), daughter, Linda Sedillo (Patrick), daughter, Angela Parker (Bryan), granddaughters Julianne Grady, Kelsie Jourgensen (Michael) and great granddaughter, Scottie Mae Jourgensen. Brothers Anthony Gould and David Gould.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at 11:00 am at Northland Church, 522 Dog Track Road, Longwood Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations made to Advent Hospice in Altamonte Springs.
