It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Roger M. Quick, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, veteran, and friend, who left this world on June 21, 2025, at the age of 91.
Roger was a man of profound integrity, quiet strength, and unwavering faith. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 22 years, achieving the rank of Major. A decorated veteran, he served a courageous tour in Vietnam, where he was awarded the Silver Star—our nation's third-highest military decoration for valor in combat.
After retiring from the military, Roger embraced his second career managing multiple bowling centers and later found success and satisfaction as a realtor until his retirement in 2019. His professional life was marked by dedication, leadership, and a warm sense of humor that drew people to him.
Faith played a central role in Roger’s life. A devoted Christian, he joyfully served his church in many ways—especially cherishing his time working with the Youth Choir, Presbyterian Youth Council, and Youth Sunday School programs. His spiritual guidance and steadfast presence were a source of inspiration for many.
He was also a lifelong fisherman and master storyteller, never missing an opportunity to share a laugh or a life lesson—often both at once. As the last surviving of three brothers, he looked forward to reuniting with them in heaven, where he hoped the fishing was good and the stories endless.
Roger is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Karen, and his children: Tim (Nancy), Vicki (Don), Mark, Holly (Jason), and Lindsay. He was a proud grandfather to Ian, Jamie, Amy, Nolan, Carter, Liam, and Jackson, and a great-grandfather to Aidan and Gavin. He also valued his sisters-in-law, Marsha and Nancy. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Jacqueline, and his cherished brothers Verne and Jim.
Known as a mentor, a trusted friend, and a man whose knowledge was matched only by his wit, Roger will be remembered for his fierce love of family and his belief in the goodness of others. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched with his compassion, strength, and enduring faith.
A celebration of Roger’s life will be held on July 20, 2025 at First Methodist Church of Oviedo with services beginning at 3:00p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Honor Flight of Central Florida (https://honorflightcentralflorida.org/donate/donate.html), a cause close to his heart.
He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
