Ron passed peacefully in his home on December 12th. He is survived by his daughter Evelyn, son Ron, and granddaughter Alexandra. Alex was the apple of his eye. He joins his beloved wife Virginia in heaven. Ron was born in Barre, Vermont and raised in Waterbury, Connecticut. After high school he spent 10 years in the U.S. Navy and served aboard the USS Intrepid which was a great source of pride. He went on to work for CBS and CBS Sports. 60 years of fun, travel, memories, and lifelong friends were made. He was lovingly referred to as the Poison Dwarf amongst his peers, but nothing could have been further from the truth. He cared about everyone and was always willing to offer his guidance, expertise, and support. Although he never attended University, UCF would turn out to be his college. Working in their athletic department for many years, he was instrumental in creating and producing the UCF Football Coaches Show airing on local TV. He also helped with UCF’s on-campus stadium project offering his perspective on implementation of Broadcast TV’s remote plugin access. A longtime season ticket holder of the Knights, from 1988 through 2024 he never missed a home football game. Often calling the plays before they happen. He lived a full and blessed life. A memorial service will be planned in the Spring for Family and Friends to attend.
