Tom R. Taylor, Sr.

Tommy Roy Taylor, Sr., 83, of Debary, Florida, passed away Tuesday, August 10, 2021.

He was born in Lincoln, Alabama on December 9, 1937. Tom was married to Mona Maples Taylor on October 10, 2020. He became a self-employed business owner in 1976 when he opened Big T Tire & Muffler in Sanford, Florida, which eventually expanded to several locations. Tom enjoyed time spent with his family, going on Harley Davidson road trips with his motorcycle friends, and was a faithful, charter member of Volusia County Baptist Church since 1996.

He is survived by his brother Bill D. Taylor of Madison FL, sister Hilda Fairbanks of Tampa, FL; sons Randy Taylor (Kathy) of Debary, Bob Taylor (Kristi) of new Smyrna Beach, Mark Taylor (Michelle) of Debary; grandchildren Tiffany Verano, Sarah Grant, Tommy Taylor III, Megan Anderson, Ashley Reed, Seth Taylor, Spencer Taylor, Grace Taylor, and fourteen great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Barbara Ahlstedt Taylor, his oldest son Tommy Roy Taylor, Jr., his grandson Jacob Robert Taylor, his sisters—Sarah Hardy, Ann Crews, Mary Dickey and Jackie Wright, his brothers —Raymond Taylor, Jr., Guy N. Taylor and his parents—Dewey Raymond Taylor and Ruby Tom Disspain Taylor.
