Vatima Zaron Rogers “Tima”, daughter of Rhoda Mea Robinson, was born in Baltimore, Maryland on July 23, 1973. After a sudden illness, God peacefully called her home to her eternal resting place on October 30, 2023.
Tima, as she was affectionately known was born to serve The Lord. At an early age she attended Dickey Hill, and then Western and Lake Clifton High School. She attended Seminole State College where she obtained two associate degrees in “Health Information Management” and “General Studies.”
Tima was a member of Bethel AME Church in Baltimore, Maryland and served on the youth choir. Later she joined “Take Me Higher Ministries”, “Eagle Wings INC, Experience.” There she received training and guidance under the direction of Bishop Janice Marie Collins. She served as an amour bearer for her mother Elder Pastor Rhoda Robinson. Tima also served as a youth minister and received her certificate to be a missionary. After holding that position for several years, the Lord called and certified her to be an Evangelist.
She had an infectious smile and always an encouraging word from the Lord. Tima had a lifelong relationship with God. Vatima loved children and knew them by name, she loved to talk to them and teach them and they loved her right back. All the children wanted to sit by “Aunty Tima” as they affectionately called her, especially in church. She often shopped and provided food for the people that lived in the woods, calling them her “living in the woods friends” and they knew her by Minister Rogers.
There was never a time Tima wouldn’t help someone or spend time ministering to them. She often told us without her ministry of the Living Word, she had no life; at the least one worth living.
One of her greatest accomplishments was her beautiful son KWAME DEVINE MORALES, born December of 1994. She was so happy to have her adorable baby boy and never grew tired of talking to Kwame.
Her maternal (Henry and Helen McDaniel) and paternal (Charles and Carrie Rogers) grandparents, a host of uncles, aunts, and cousins and also her father preceded her in death, waiting to welcome her into the heavenly realm.
She had a lifetime relationship with her Heavenly Father and often spoke of her joy filled days of meeting God. She was ready for her journey. She loved her family but she loved God more. Her greeting was “I have no complaints.” Her leaving was “God Bless You, Love You, Peace.”
Vatima Zaron Rogers cherished the relationship with her mother, Rhoda. They called each other (Best Friends Forever) BFF’s. William Robinson III, (Pop Pop), as she affectionately called him, was a father to her since age 4. Her beloved son Kwame D. Morales (Quacky); 2 brothers; Clayton E. Rogers (Kumiko) and William V. Robinson IV. 2 nephews; D. Clayton Rogers Jr. and Antonine Hall. One niece; Mia Rogers. 2 great nieces and 2 great nephews. 6 aunts, 4 uncles and a host of relatives, cousins and friends are all left to mourn and celebrate her home going.
She also leaves behind her very special devoted friend; Toni Poole.
A funeral service for Vatima will be held Saturday, November 18, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Baldwin-Fairchild Oaklawn Chapel, 5000 COUNTY ROAD 46A, SANFORD, FL 32771.
