She was born on October 2, 1928 in Pasadena, California, and her life was filled with cherished memories. Throughout her life, she was known for her soft spoken wisdom, kindness, generosity, sense of humor, and devotion to family. She had an immense love for everyone she encountered, and no one was ever just a friend, she adopted them all and loved them as her family. She was fondly known to all as “GRANDMA”. Angie had a deep love and passion for music, and she especially treasured the time spent with family and loved ones. Those who knew Grandma Angie will remember her for her loving heart, infectious laugh, unwavering strength, and willingness to help and take care of others. Her love and presence touched the lives of so many, and she will be deeply missed.
Angie will be lovingly remembered by her loving daughter-in-law, Esther Melendez, 8 Grandchildren, 16 Great-Grandchildren and 7 Great-Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Manuel Soto, mother, Josefa Aguilar, husband, Edward Gutierrez Melendez, her children, Eddie Melendez, Daniel Melendez, and Joseph Melendez. Her siblings, Gilardo “Boy” Soto, Johnny Soto, Jesus Ochoa & Julia Ochoa, and family & loved ones.
Her funeral will take place on Friday, September 11, 2026, at Fairhaven Memorial Park Mortuary in Santa Ana CA. Viewing will be from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, a Rosary service will be at 11:30 AM, funeral services will be from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, burial will be from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM. A reception will be hosted at the family home in Riverside, CA after the funeral services, and additional information will be provided at that time.
Grandma Angie leaves behind a legacy of love and countless memories that will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
