Brother Doc had the rare distinction of being both a warrior and a healer. He served as a Army medic in Vietnam and risked his own life to save countless lives. Doc was awarded the Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Army Commendation Medal Motorcycle Club, he held several positions in the club. Doc was also the Commandant of the Cypress VFW for many years.
After courageously serving his country in Vietnam, Doc continued his calling to be a healer, and became a licensed chiropractor. He established a practice in Los Alamitos, where he was of service to thousands of patients.
But Doc’s calling to be a healer wasn’t limited to his patients. He magnanimously imparted sound medical advice to his Club brothers, and anyone who requested it. Doc regarded service to his fellows as a supreme imperative.
Doc was not only a healer with his hands, but he had great, irrepressible wit. Proverbs 17:22 states a cheerful heart is good medicine. And he freely shared his cheerful heart.
Thus, we would shortchange Doc if we didn’t mention his cantankerous nature.
He has joined his brothers in heaven. Rest in peace Brother Doc.
