On October 19, 2018, Charlene Wight Sorenson passed away after a brief illness, at the age of 90 years. She enjoyed 70 years of marriage to her husband Nile Alma Sorenson who survives her. Together, they raised 5 children, and were blessed with 18 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. To Charlene, her family was everything.
Born into a Pioneer family in Brigham City, Utah, Charlene was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Throughout her life, she gave unselfish service in varying capacities including acting as Matron of the Los Angeles Temple. She also served alongside her husband as Mission Presidents of the Colorado Denver Mission.
