Clayton Ethan-Nguyen Tran, age 8, peacefully passed away surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at Children’s Hospital of Orange County, following a 7-week battle with rare brainstem cancer.
Clayton was born in Fountain Valley, California on October 11, 2012. With his black hair, big brown eyes, and a huge smile, Clayton would light up any room he was in. Clayton was always a cheerful, polite boy and never complained. He always wanted others to be happy and did not want to disappoint others. He brought love and happiness wherever he went with his genuinely happy smile. He was happiest when he was at home surrounded by his favorite people. He enjoyed doing what most 8-year-old boys do, playing games on iPad, building things with his Lego’s, playing with his Roblox collections, watching his favorite TV shows, doing puzzles with his sister, and riding his bike and scooter. Clayton always wanted to be a scientist when he grows up.
He attended Rose Drive Elementary in Yorba Linda where he built strong bond and connection with teachers, classmates and new friends.
Clayton will be forever remembered and loved by his parents Shirley Nguyen and Nguyen Tran, his younger sister Leighton Tran, his maternal grandparents Chau and Kim Nguyen, his paternal grandmother Tuoc Nguyen, his Auntie Kathy and Uncle John and Cousins Jason and Jayden, and his Aunt Connie Tran and Cousin Frankie, as well as many cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 17th, 2021 from 10am - 2 pm at Waverly Chapel of Fairhaven Memorial Park at Santa Ana. Cremation will take place at a later date in a private ceremony for Clayton's immediate family.
