Diana Lynn Waller (affectionately known to her husband as Diana Lynzie Waller or Wifey) was born on July 9th, 1954 at Centinela Hospital in Inglewood, California. She passed away on March 8th, 2019. She spent her childhood growing up in Manhattan Beach, California where she attended and graduated from Bishop Montgomery High School. After her graduation, her parents moved to Fountain Valley, California. She then attended California State University Fullerton and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Accounting in 1976. In the summer of 1976 while taking an advanced accounting class at California State University Fullerton she met the love of her life Gregory Dean Waller. She and Greg were married in Wayfarers Chapel on March 6, 1977 and spent the next 42 years of their life together pursuing their dreams.
Diana started her life in accounting as a CPA at Arthur Anderson and Company in the fall of 1976. After obtaining her CPA license, she went on to develop a career in accounting as a Chief Accountant, Corporate Controller and Chief Financial Officer of several real estate development firms in the Orange County, California area. She retired in 2001 and went on to pursue her lifelong passion for all things Walt Disney.
Diana, with her husband in tow, would go on to attend the openings of EPCOT at Disney World in Orlando, Florida, the opening of Tokyo Disneyland in Japan and the opening of Paris Disneyland in France. She visited Walt Disney’s birthplace, ate at his favorite dining spots, attended many events at Smoke Tree Ranch in Palm Springs where Walt had resided and which has become a hangout for Disney fans. She just loved being a regular at Disneyland’s Club 33 and all their events. She was a huge supporter of The Walt Disney Family Museum, the Carolwood Society, Ryman Arts, Chapman University and California State University Fullerton where she and Greg have a class room named in their honor for their contributions to the University to help build Mihaylo College of Business and Economics.
Diana adored children and spent many days and hours over many years taking family, friends, strangers and their kids on tours of Disneyland. The joy in her face can be seen in the pictures taken of her when attending anything Disney with her family and friends. Diana was a truly generous lady who was never too busy to help a friend, family member or stranger through a difficult time. She would drop everything to help someone in need. She was a kind and generous soul who departed this earth much too soon and will be deeply missed by her family and friends and her adoring and loving husband.
She is survived by her parents Don and Doris Griffith, her sister Debbie Blair her loving husband Gregory Waller, as well as the many other people whose lives she touched in a truly compassionate, giving and loving way.
