Dianna Sue Gower of Mission Viejo, California passed away on August 27th, 2018. A loving mother and grandmother, she fought a long, courageous battle with COPD. She maintained her sharp mind and quick wit right up until her peaceful departure.
A lifelong resident of Orange County, Dianna Sue Thornton was born in Santa Ana, California on March 10, 1943. Her mother, Mildred S. Latham, was born in Hot Springs Arkansas, and Dianna was raised by her grandparents Theopolis and Azzie Lee Thornton in Santa Ana.
Dianna was a spirited, vivacious woman who always managed to bring friends and family together to celebrate life. She served as a former President of the Santa Ana Women’s Club and volunteered for numerous community charities while her sons attended Holy Family Cathedral School in Orange. Dianna worked for over 30 years as a secretary and escrow officer, most notably with First American Title in Santa Ana.
She loved gardening, especially her roses, and took great pleasure in the rituals of seasonal change. A world traveler with her husband Tom, she found equal pleasure in visiting remote monasteries as she did people watching from sidewalk cafes.
Dianne was preceded by her late husband Thomas Gower (January 2018) and is survived by her beloved sons Mark A. Paget of Stormstown, Pennsylvania and Paul S. Paget of Rancho Santa Margarita, California; Daughters in law Kristina Paget and Melissa Paget; Grandsons Jacob Paget, Kyle Paget, Alexander Paget, Jaret Paget, and Justin Paget.
