Her family came to CA on vacation when she was 16, and she fell in love with it.....so much so that she convinced her parents to let her stay with her aunt and finish school in CA. Dolores went to Santa Ana High School her senior year, then returned to PA.
Shortly thereafter, she joined the Navy, where she spent two years as an aviation storekeeper. She married Robert Ira Miller who was in the Army at the time, and they had a military wedding under swords. Together they had 5 children, Barbara, Frances (deceased), Robert, Judith and William (deceased). The marriage ended in divorce and in 1966, she moved her five children from Pennsylvania to her beloved California, where she raised all five children by herself. They lived in Orange, CA where she became a nurse and worked at St. Joseph Hospital for over 30 years.
She met many of her best friends, one in particular—Betty Tester. Awaiting her in heaven were best friends Betty Myers, Susan Broadhurst, and of course, that special man in her life, LaRue Bushor.
Dolores loved living in CA and spending time with her brothers William (deceased) and Charles, as well as sisters in law Arlene and Sandy and their families. The more the merrier as far as Dolores was concerned. Her children were truly the light of her life, and she loved them unconditionally.
From them she was blessed by marriage with more children: Bill T. and Cheryl, 7 grandchildren: Scott (Monica), Carly (Lindsey), JR (Brandi), Courtney (Todd), Michelle (Greg), William (Jenee), and Amanda. And from them came great grandchildren: Kyler, Holden, Alice, Johnny, Lucas, Logan, Landon, Ariel, Cole, Mason, Violet and Kensington!
She was also blessed with SO many great friends and relatives too numerous to mention here but so appreciated by her immediate family. Dolores was truly loved and loved back unconditionally. She was strong for all of us right up to the end and will be missed more than words can say.
