Grandma, I love you. Thank you for taking Michael and I to feed the ducks. You always cared about making sure we knew we were loved and strongly tied to our family. I love to learn more about the "Field" side of our family and enjoyed the time we spent together in the end.

Aunt Doris, oh how I loved you. When I would talk to you on the phone I always had the biggest smile on my face. We would laugh the whole phone call. It was an honor when my dad would call me by your name instead of mine. I will love you until forever.

Doris E Britt was my Mom , She was the daughter of Lewis Stewart and Cleo Stewart.
She grew up in Joliet Illinois, she had 2 older brothers,
Clifford Stewart and Richard Stewart. My mom had real bad asthma but it didn’t keep her from being involved in Choir at School and at church. She went to Joliet Township High School and that’s where she met my Dad ,
John Field, he graduated a year ahead of her and after he did his tour in the Navy they got married. They had me softly there after. My asthma was so bad they moved to Orange County for the warmer climate. My mom was the consummate mother, cooking, cleaning , PTA you name it
She made sure I grew up right and that included spanking if I needed it. My dad worked in a oil refinery and worked crazy hours. Mom had to play both mom and dad in raising me. She attended every school event , scout meeting and sports event. In High School mom and dad divorced
I went to live with my dad. I broke her heart doing that and we never had any meaningful relationship till a few years ago when I came to visit and found she had Alzheimer’s and Dementia, she was by herself and needed help. My wife along with her Aunt became her caregivers and made sure she was going to dr appts, eating healthy and taking her meds. She got sick recently with pneumonia and a Urinary infection and it just took the life out of her, she fought the the whole time. Mom, Thank you for Everything , you will be missed , your only son. Love Scott

I've been walking through my memories, remembering the last couple of times we were out there. We just about ran the tires off of your car on our 'road trips'. Anything I wanted to see, you were ready to go. We miss you dear Doris, love you forever, like you always. Rest in peace, no more pain, no more suffering.
