Jeff was born an eighth generation Californian in Culver City footsteps away from Goldwyn Mayer Studios. His ancestors in fact were some of the founding families of the city of Los Angeles. As an only child his loving parents spoiled him in a good way. He got interested in collecting fine pens at age 7, a hobby he continued his whole life. He enjoyed four years in the boys scouts, was a member of the public speaking club at school and developed a passion for history early on. He went on to major in history in college and would later teach at Orange Coast community college. He use to say he felt a sense of accomplishment when he could help his students get excited about history and some went on to major in it.
He joined Toastmasters club feeling he had a gift for public speaking and helped others to develop their public speaking skills as he went onto start Toastmasters chapters at Disneyland where he worked with youth and Knott‘s Berry Farm. He was also a member of Kiwanis club and actively supporting political candidates. In his late 40s he contracted Parkinson’s disease and had to retire from teaching. In his mid-50s his parents needed his help, his mom a heart condition and his dad had Alzheimer’s disease so he became a full-time caregiver, his dad passed away in 2003 and his mom 2014. He decided to move to a senior living community in Irvine and then he moved to Velencia Terrace. In his late 60’s he decided that he wanted to live out the rest of his life with family so he moved with his cousin's family into a beautiful home in Riverside. He enjoyed being part of a family again.
He passed peacefully and was well loved in his home.
