Eleanor Pauline Laneaux, a beloved mother, a cherished wife, and a friend to so many, passed away after a courageous battle against cancer on January 15, 2021. She was surrounded by her family. Born January 24, 1960, in Orange, California, to Ignacio and Helen Aguirre, Eleanor was the youngest of seven children. As a child, Eleanor thoroughly enjoyed her role as the youngest and fondly remembers her childhood filled with extra presents and kisses from her family. As a teenager she loved roller skating, going to the beach, bowling, playing soccer/baseball, and watching scary movies with her dad - to her mother’s dismay. It was no secret that Eleanor could just about get away with anything she wanted, but she learned early in life the value of family and not taking anyone, or anything, for granted.
On October 10, 1987, Eleanor married the love of her life David W. Laneaux on the cliff-side of Laguna Beach, CA, overlooking the ocean. Throughout their 34 year marriage, they enjoyed family barbeques, gathering and watching her favorite sports teams such as the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Angels, and the Kansas City Chiefs. Whether riding the lazy river at her favorite resort, sunbathing aboard a cruise ship off the coast of Cancun, Mexico, or eating at a fantastic buffet on the Las Vegas strip, Eleanor lived life and enjoyed it with her husband and family she did it her way.
Eleanor pursued higher education and had a passion for knowledge and learning, specifically in the IT field. She earned her BSM in Business Management from the University of Phoenix, and became a Certified Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator. She earned her M.S. in Science of Information Security and Assurance from Western Governs University (WGU). Eleanor worked for multiple companies throughout her career, such as Perot Systems, Dell, and the most recent, NTT Data. Eleanor was passionate about inspiring future generations of directors, managers & employees and made life-long friends wherever she worked.
In her spare time, Eleanor enjoyed spending time with her family. Her family meant everything to her and she was constantly on the go. She loved Kohls's shopping with her mom, telling bed time stories and cuddling with her granddaughters, laughing with her siblings, cheering on the Lakers with her husband, going to Christian concerts, and cooking dinner with her daughters. She doted on her pet dogs: Thema & Louise , Lucy & Buddy-Lee, Oscar, and Peanut, her African Grey Parrot. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, soduko, scrap-booking, painting ceramics, and watching Judge Judy. Her favorite place to vacation was Tahiti Village in Las Vegas, NV where you could find her in the pool sipping a refreshing fruit drink, and she could never turn down a Coke flavored Slurpee from 7-Eleven.
Eleanor was a devoted Christian and member of Sonlight Christian Church in Orange, Ca for over 20 years. One of her favorite bible quotes comes from Joshua 1:9, "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid, do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go". Eleanor loved Jesus and would often intercede on behalf of her family, friends, and community because of her strong faith. She loved praying with her fellow prayer warriors at Sonlight.
Eleanor wanted to do so much in this life but towards the end she was ready to go to her true home. She is survived by her husband David, her children Tamara and Crystal, her granddaughters Presley and Amelia, her mother Helen, her brother Johnny, and her sisters Christine, Linda, and Susan. We will all miss our Angel on Earth.
