He slipped away to our Heavenly Father after spending precious Father's Day moments with his wife Verna and children.
Everett was born in Corning, CA to Olive Esther Goings and Everett Stanley Goings.
Everett attended Santa Ana High School where he was known as "A Firecracker". He excelled academically and was a superstar football player. He graduated from Santa Ana High School in 1947.
After high school, he attended Santa Ana College and then transferred to Long Beach State University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.
He also pursued his MBA from University of Southern California.
During this time, he met the love of his life Verna Bosen. They married in 1954. Everett said "The most successful thing I ever accomplished in life was marrying Verna and having four amazing children".
Everett's professional career began at Hughes aircraft, then onto NCR where he was a systems analyst. Though being successful in his positions, he felt healthcare was his growing passion, so he landed a job at Basler Homes. After working there for a few years, he started a new career in healthcare at Carehouse Convalescent Hospital. In 1971 Everett's passion for healthcare grew more profound and culminated with his initial investment in Villa Elena Convalescent Hospital. He then acquired another seven nursing homes and assisted living homes. Everett was very successful in his professional life as a healthcare executive and owner of Progressive Healthcare based in Loma Linda, CA. Everett retired in 2011 and handed the enterprise to his eldest son. This was his goal, to have a family run company and all the Goings are proud and take great pride to say "Dad's Legacy Lives On".
Everett lived most of his married life in Orange County, CA, His children say their dad taught them what it means to sacrifice, love family and live simply.
Everett loved watching and coaching his kids in sports and he loved to play tennis. He also loved to go camping, go to the river, spend time with family and socialize with friends. Everett is survived by his wife Verna of 68 years, four children, -Stephanie, Greg, Mark, and Julie.

A funeral service will occur Thursday, July 7, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at The Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints, 9801 S. Newport Blvd., Santa Ana, CA 92705. A graveside service will occur Thursday, July 7, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Fairhaven Memorial Park, 1702 Fairhaven Avenue, Santa Ana, CA 92705.
