Esther Reynoso, born on February 27, 1934, passed away on January 17, 2026, at the age of 91. A resident of Anaheim, California, Esther was a beloved matriarch and a guiding light to her family and community.
Born to Jose Orozco and Francisca Estrada, Esther grew up with her siblings Daniel, Maria Del Refugio "Cuca," Ernesto, and Carmen in Tijuana, where her childhood home was the center of family gatherings and adventures. She often reminisced about her childhood, filled with trips to the beach and city fairs, surrounded by the smells of fresh tortillas, pan dulce and the sounds of music and laughter. Esther graduated from Alvaro Obregon school and completed accounting courses after high school.
Esther began her career in accounting departments, working at Domino Cigarettes and Baloyan in Mexico. After marrying Hilario Reynoso on June 11, 1958, in Tijuana, she immigrated to the United States and helped establish Reynoso Leather with her husband. Together, they operated retail locations in Anaheim and at The International Fair Complex in LA County while also establishing manufacturing facilities in Ensenada and Tijuana. Esther continued as the bookkeeper for the business until shortly before her passing.
Esther and Hilario had three sons: Rick (married to Patricia Crawford), Sergio (married to Mireya Reynoso), and George (married to Liz Reynoso). The family cherished traditions such as Christmas Eve parties and making tamales. Esther ensured her family maintained strong ties with relatives in Mexico and instilled a diligent work ethic in her sons. After Hilario's passing on June 1, 2020, Esther remained a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, making her home a haven for her grandchildren.
Esther was passionate about spending time with family, reading, jigsaw puzzles, enjoying black and white movies, and reminiscing over photos. She was known for her love of music, squirrels, birds, butterflies, tea pots, her garden, banana splits, and the color pink. Esther was a skilled listener and a faithful witness for God, quietly supporting her community and charitable causes like the Catholic Church and Salesian Mission Charities.
Her character was defined by her intelligence, humility, faithfulness, generosity, and love. Esther's legacy of love for God and family continues through her children and grandchildren. Her memorable sayings, "Si Dios Quiere" and "I want to see you all the days," reflect her enduring love for her family.
Visitation will be held on February 5, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Fairhaven Memorial Park Mortuary, 1702 Fairhaven Avenue, Santa Ana, CA 92705. The funeral service will follow from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, with the committal service from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm at the same location.
Special thanks to all family and friends who visited, helped, loved, and prayed for Esther, honoring her throughout the years. Esther Orozco Reynoso, "Nana," was a heavenly gift, and her beauty lives on in all who knew her. Her family will carry her spirit in their hearts forever.
