

Evangelina Luna, daughter of late Nicasio Luna Romo former President of Praxedis, Chihuahua, Mexico, and Carmen Holguin Luna, was born February 28, 1940 in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua Mexico. She was the youngest of 6 children. Growing up in a Catholic family she learned at a very young age to be a part of the church and joined the local church choir at age 11. Her beautiful voice was heard in church until recent years.
Being the first to attend Preparatory School, she moved to the city of Juarez and spent most of her teenage years studying, living with her aunt and enjoyed dressing up, doing fancy hair everyday in her salon. She was a starred basketball athlete from the age of 6 years old, she loved the sport and you would find her until dark playing at the local park. She played until she graduated high school.
She graduated with Administrative Studies, early at the age of 17. She wanted to be a businesswoman and was employed by Social Security in 1958. She then met Mario Suarez and was blessed with her first born daughter Sylvia. From there she wanted to come to California, with a courageous spirit she did so in 1969 accompanied by her mother and daughter Sylvia, age 3 months. After arriving in Santa Ana, where some of her brothers were already living, she worked in an airplane factory in Fullerton to make a life for her and her child. She found her true calling and led her to a nutrition company called Shaklee and after hard work, she opened her own distribution office on Main Street in Santa Ana. Her very successful 63 year career led her to many more awarded executive roles, vested triumphant leader with several national companies and the care and well being of the community she served.
She then wed and that union was blessed with 2 children, daughters Elizabeth and Adrienne.
Evangelina was an active member of the community and devoted parishioner of St. Annes Church, choir singer at St. Joseph's Church and Christ Cathedral. As a result of her generous spirit and fun loving personality she was loved by many. She cared about the well being of the community and her family was her purpose in life. Her Catholic life was as beautiful as the portrait of Jesus she loved so well and her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her. She quietly departed this life Monday, January 25, 2021 in her home.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her 3 daughters, sister Maria Juarez, 4 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, devoted family members, nieces, cousins and friends.
