

passed on to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on
April 11, 2012 at Coastal Community Hospital.
Born in Kansas on February 15, 1928, he spent most of
his young life in Guadalupe, Mexico, where he met and
married his wife. With the tough times, they found
themselves travelling to California for seasonal work.
Eventually settling down in Santa Ana across from an
Orange Grove where he worked as a farmer. As the
population boomed, the farmland diminished.
To help provide for his family, he took odd jobs, until he
found work as a truck loader for Sears company. He worked
this job until he retired in 1992.
In his retirement he found joy in keeping up with his garden
and the California Angels ofAnaheim MLB team.
Through his life, Mr. Vargas was a devoted husband, father, and
eventually grandfather, and great grandfather. He is known to
always have a smile on his face and keep a warm and
friendly demeanor.
He is survived by his wife Venancia; children Faustino Jr.
and Griselda, and Jaime and Roda; grandchildren Jackie and
Martin Garcia, Jannel, Cristian, Andrea, Mateo, and Luis; and
great grandson Nevin Garcia. He is preceded in death by his
parents Felix and Crispina; and brothers Vicente, Juan, Jorge,
Lupe, and Julian.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 1pm at the Immaculate
Heart of Mary Catholic Church at 1100 Center Street, Santa Ana,
CA 92704. Burial will follow at Santa Ana Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday from 5-9pm at MacDougall
Family Mortuary. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be
made to Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
