Horng, also known as Peter, came to the U.S. in the 80’s to pursue an art education at the Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara, California. He had a successful career in the digital art world, and practiced multiple mediums as a hobby. He took pride in his sculptures and loved taking photos on his trips to national parks with his friends.
Peter had a love for dogs. He had fond memories of and often talked about his dogs 小熊 and Brownie. He loved shooting hoops and taught his daughter Karen how to play tennis. He passed on his artistic talents to his daughter Kathy.
Horng is survived by his wife Su Mei, his daughters Karen and Kathy, his sister Theresa and her husband JT with their sons Chih-Kuan and Andy, his sister Hsueh Wen, and his mother Hong Yeh He.
We remember him for his love of the outdoors, his quirky taste in foods, his dry sense of humor, and lastly his everlasting love for his family. Even though he was a man of few words, we know he loved us from the bottom of his heart. We will keep exploring the world for you, 爸!
