

Jacqueline (Ullman) McCracken was born July 29, 1930, in Phoenix, Arizona, to Irene and Richard Ullman. Known as Jackie to her friends & family, she was the youngest of two children. She and her brother Dick grew up in Hermosa Beach, California, where they developed their lifelong passion for the ocean and beach.
After graduating from Redondo Union High School, Jackie earned her bachelor’s degree in Education at the University of Redlands where she became active in her sorority and gained sisters who became lifelong friends and would remain instrumental and involved in the rest of her life. One of them, Barbara Main, would introduce her to James McCracken, who became the love of her life and husband for 61 years.
Upon graduating from the University of Redlands, she taught fourth grade. She and “Jimmy” married on June 11, 1955. They had three children, Kirk (Patty), Mark (Susan) and Gail (David Douglas); four grandchildren, Erin (Jake Triplett), Lisa (Jon Foster), Kyle Douglas and Aidan Douglas; and four great grandchildren, Jeffrey Triplett, Grace Triplett, Lucas Foster and Olivia Foster.
She loved spending time and traveling with friends and family, and playing cards, especially bridge. Jackie served for many years as a docent at bowers Museum. She adored her own and her brother Dick’s children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a devoted member of First United Methodist Church of Orange, where she taught Sunday school. Jackie and Jim were also active members of the church’s Los Dobles couples group where they developed many lifelong friendships.
She passed away on December 11, 2025, at Orange Health and Wellness Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Richard Ullman, husband James McCracken, and son Kirk McCracken.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 10th at 11am at the First United Methodist Church of Orange.
