Janet Arminda Gunckel

Janet A. Gunckel passed away the morning of April 7, 2022, in Brea, CA. Janet was born in Logan, Utah; moved to Southern California when she was two years old; and lived in Southern California ever since. Janet received an AA Degree from Santa Monica Junior College and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Cal State Fullerton. Janet passed the Real Estate Exam and got her Real Estate license, selling Real Estate and managing rentals for several years. Janet, with her husband Tom, got to travel the world. Janet had a long and full life with fifty-nine years of marriage, two children, two grandchildren, all living nearby, and had an active circle of friends who enjoyed Janet’s sharp wit and her ability to make those around her laugh and have a good time. Janet is survived by her husband Thomas L. Gunckel, II, her daughter Nancy N. Mitchell, Nancy’s husband Michael J. Mitchell, her son Thomas L. Gunckel, III, Tom III’s wife Tata Petmak, her grandchildren Natalie J. Mitchell and Michael J. Mitchell, II, and her brother Ronald J. Parker

A funeral service for Janet will be held Thursday, May 5, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Fairhaven Memorial Park Mortuary, 1702 Fairhaven Avenue, Santa Ana, CA 92705. A reception will occur Thursday, May 5, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, 1702 Fairhaven Avenue, Santa Ana, CA 92705. A committal service will occur Thursday, May 5, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Fairhaven Memorial Park, 1702 Fairhaven Avenue, Santa Ana, CA 92705.
