I've tried adding things before, but I could just never figure out what to say. So here is my best try. Ever since I was a little girl you have always been my friend. I remember at one point everyday when I would come home from school, you would be the first person I wanted to see. You always tried to make me the best version of myself, and for that I am truly thankful. I remember anytime we would talk about your time in the army, you would call all of the fellow soldiers your "Battle Buddies." I always thought that was a very honorable title and I still remember the day and conversation we were having when you called me your battle buddy and I never will forget it. Thank you for always believing in me and telling me that I could do anything as long as I worked hard for it. I love you, my Battle Buddy. I will never forget you.

Joaquin, I remember teaching you how to use our barbecue pit southern style. You were such a good dad. The love you felt for our grandchild glowed bright in your eyes. Rest easy now. Love always, Marcy, John and Matt.
