
Kenneth L “Tamer” Derr, 87, of Stockton, Illinois, passed away quietly, in his sleep on the morning of March 5th 2017. Kenneth is survived by his beloved wife Geraldine of 69 years, their four children Roxanne, Todd, Lisa and Joel. Along with their eight grandchildren, Devon, Briana, Nicole, Andrew, Meghan, Kendra, Kathryn, Colbie and their three great-grandchildren Hunter, Madeline, and Piper. Also loved by his niece, Jill Nicolay, who lived as family with Kenny and Geri, in Whittier. Kenny, lived in Whittier, and San Clemente California with his family most of his life. He was deacon of the East Whittier Presbyterian Church, co-founder of the Young Life Christian organization, local chapter, and Senior Vice President of City Industry Region, manager for Bank of America in San Bernardino, LA, City of Commerce, and City of Industry. He dedicated over 20 years on the Hospital board for the Presbyterian Hospital in Whittier. He was a giving and dedicated philanthropist and valued hard work, family and integrity. He loved people, children and animals and was gentle and kind throughout his life. Kenneth L loved his wife, Geri, who adored him as child-hood sweethearts. She was with him as he suffered through Alzheimers’ disease and is residing in Santa Rosa, near her daughter, Roxanne. Kenneth was the best role model for his children and their spouses. His love of sports, the Lakers, Chicago Cubs, and LA Angels created memories for them all. He will be dearly missed but his family is at peace now that he is with his Lord.
