

Laura Linnell Cordell, "Linnell" as she preferred to be called, was born on August 11, 1922 to Samuel and Nellie Benny in Salina, Kansas. She passed into the loving hands of Jesus on November 2, 2020 in Eastvale, California at the age of 98.
She lived in Salina, Kansas until the age of 13 when her family moved to Southern California where her uncle, Lionel Ostrander had an implements shop in Santa Ana. She graduated from Newport Harbor High School in 1940. One week after her 18th birthday she married the love of her life, Daniel Richard Cordell. The happy couple made their home in Santa Ana Gardens and moved to Santa Ana where they lived for many years raising their three daughters. They were married for 55 blissful years.
Linnell and Daniel loved to ballroom dance and spent many weekends dancing the night away, as well as vacation cruises with friends. Her hobbies included china painting and later making antique reproduction dolls. She was an active member of Keenagers, a senior citizen church group who sent candy and gifts to those in need.
She was preceded in death by her husband Daniel Richard Cordell, mother and father Nellie and Samuel Benny, brothers, Samuel and Donald Benny, son-in law David Williams, grandsons Bradley Allen and David D. Williams. Linnell is survived by her three daughters, Sharilyn Allen (John), Dannita Williams and Julie Schossow (Jim), as well as 7 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
