

Lois Erickson died at 98 peacefully in her assisted living home April 17, 2018 in Tustin California. Lois is survived by her Grandchildren Brad, Carrie, Shawn, and David; Great Grandchildren Shelby and Cody; and Great Great Grandchild Dean.
Lois was born March 20, 1920 in Superior Wisconsin, parents Elsie and Gus Larson. Lois attended Superior Central High school where she met her soul mate Walter Erickson at the age of 15 years old. During high school Lois and Walt enjoyed singing together in the choir, picnics, toboggan sliding, canoeing, hikes, roller skating, and street dancing.
Lois and Walter married May 27th 1941. Lois and Walter were happily married for 69 years, and together for an amazing total of 75 years! On Oct 24, 1942 Walter went to serve in World War 2, in the army air forces. This day also marked the birth of their son Richard. Walter wrote poems, songs, and letters to Lois for the 3 years he served. Walter and Lois had two children, Karin and Richard. Richard passed in 1981, and Karin passed in 2008.
Lois played piano beautifully by ear, from the age of 5, all the way to the age of 97. She entertained family and friends during every social visit, and also entertained during her final 6 years at her assisted living home in Tustin. Playing the piano was something that brought herself and others true joy. Lois was also known for being an extremely talented cook, making family famous Swedish meatballs, ambrosia, pork chops, soups, casseroles, and baked goods.
Lois was known for being a "people person," working as an Avon lady for 25 years! She truly enjoyed spending time with others, developing long lasting friendships, and spending time on the phone, keeping in touch with long-distanced friends and family.
A memorial celebrating Lois’s life will be held April 28, 2018 at 2pm, at Fairhaven Memorial Park Chapel, Santa Ana.
