Mario Castaneda Martinez

Mario Castaneda Martinez ,53, passed away on March 30, 2024. Born on July 17, 1970, to loving parents, Juan and Flora Castaneda, and grew up with eight siblings in Guerrero, Mexico . Losing his mother at an early age, when he was 9, was quite difficult for him to deal with, but he persevered because he was determined to help his father and his siblings. In 1995, he decided to move to the United States so he would be able to work and help his father financially. A year later he would meet the love of his life, Lina. They met in Santa Ana, California through a mutual friend. Mario and Lina would begin to date and later on move in together. They would receive their first daughter, Jennifer Castaneda, on September 16, 1999. Overjoyed with their baby girl, they loved her so much that they would protect her no matter the cost. Mario was enamored with his love and daughter, which he would work fiercely to provide them whatever they needed. In December 2002, Mario and Lina got married and officially became the Castaneda Family. It was one of the best days of their lives. Three years later, they welcomed their second daughter, Anahi Castaneda-Gonzalez, which completed the family. Throughout the years, Mario raised two stubborn kids that many can say are just like him. He was the best father, friend, husband, and son that anyone could aspire to be. He was the hardest worker I have ever known, his daughters hope to be as hardworking, passionate, and humble as he was. Mario could be the most intimidating person in the room but make the most uncalled for jokes and laugh his butt off. Even during his last few months, he fought as hard as he could and did not give up. Mario always wanted the best for his family and wanted to see his girls succeed. He may not physically be there for his wife and daughters, but he will always live on in their hearts and memories.

Mario Castañeda Martínez, de 53 años, falleció el 30 de Marzo del 2024. Nació el 17 de Julio del 1970, de padres amorosos, Juan y Flora Castañeda, y creció con siete hermanos en Guerrero, México. Perder a su madre a una edad temprana, cuando tenía 9 años, fue bastante difícil para él, pero perseveró porque estaba decidido a ayudar a su padre y a sus hermanos. En 1995 decidió mudarse a los Estados Unidos para poder trabajar y ayudar económicamente a su padre. Un año después conocería al amor de su vida, Lina. Se conocieron en Santa Ana, California a través de un amigo en común. Mario y Lina comenzaron a salir y vivir juntos. Recibieron a su primera hija, Jennifer Castaneda, el 16 de Septiembre del 1999. Llenos de alegría con su pequeña, la amaban tanto que la protegerían sin importar el costo. Mario estaba enamorado de su amor y de su hija, por lo que trabajaría arduamente para brindarles todo lo que necesitaran. En Diciembre de 2002, Mario y Lina se casaron y se convirtieron oficialmente en la Familia Castañeda. Fue uno de los mejores días de sus vidas. Tres años después, el 10 de Marzo del 2005, dieron la bienvenida a su segunda hija, Anahí Castañeda-González, que completó la familia. A lo largo de los años, Mario crió a dos niñas tercas que muchos pueden decir que son como él. Era el mejor padre, amigo, esposo e hijo que cualquiera podría aspirar a ser. Era muy trabajador y sus hijas esperan ser tan trabajadoras, apasionadas y humildes como él. Incluso durante sus últimos meses, luchó todo lo que pudo y no se rindió. Mario siempre quiso lo mejor para su familia y quería ver a sus hijas triunfar. Puede que no esté físicamente allí para su esposa e hijas, pero siempre vivirá en sus corazones y recuerdos.

A visitation for Mario will be held Friday, April 12, 2024 at Castaneda Home. A funeral mass will occur Saturday, April 13, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 1100 S Center St, Santa Ana, CA 92704. A graveside service will occur Saturday, April 13, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Fairhaven Memorial Park, 1702 Fairhaven Avenue, Santa Ana, California 92705.
