With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, Martin "Sonny" Morales, who peacefully entered into eternal rest surrounded by the love of his family.
Born in Santa Ana, California, in February 1942, Sonny was the beloved son of Felix Morales and Lupe Carrasco Morales and brother to 4 siblings. Raised in Santa Ana, he was known for his unwavering work ethic, kind heart, quiet strength, and deep love for his family. His greatest blessing was the life he built alongside his forever sweetheart and beloved wife of 68 years, Sylvia Morales.
For many years, Sonny owned and operated a masonry business that provided employment to countless family members and friends. His craftsmanship was more than a profession, it was an art. Through his dedication and talent, he left a lasting mark throughout Southern California, with many of his masonry projects still standing today as a testament to his skill, pride, and commitment to excellence.
Sonny is lovingly survived by his devoted wife, Sylvia Morales; his three sons, Mark Morales and his wife, Briza, and his five children; Larry Morales and his wife, Maria, and their three children; and Philip Morales and his wife, Ericka, and their two children. He was also the proud and cherished great-grandfather of thirteen great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense joy.
A devoted man of faith, Sonny found comfort in prayer throughout his life. In his final moments, he was surrounded by those he loved most, holding a rosary in his hand. Though he will be deeply missed, we find peace in knowing he is now reunited with the Lord and free from pain.
Sonny's legacy is one of faith, family, hard work, generosity, and love. He built more than beautiful stonework throughout Southern California, he built a family grounded in compassion, integrity, and devotion. His example of love, wisdom, and laughter will continue to live on through his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all whose lives he touched.
