Nancy Demshock, age 52, died on Saturday, November 18, 2017 from complications associated with her 2.5 year battle with breast cancer. Nancy is survived by her mother, Carol Demshock; her sisters Lynn Demshock, Sandra Williamson and Danielle Shaw; her brother-in-laws Chuck Williamson and Matthew Shaw, her nieces Macey Williamson, Alexandra Shaw, Katherine Shaw and Olivia Shaw; and her boyfriend Ramon Bumacod. She is preceded in death by her father, David Demshock. Nancy was born on August 27, 1965 in Cheektawaga, New York. She moved to Southern California with her parents and sisters when she was 8, and with the exception of a few years in Lake Elsinore, lived in Orange County most of her life. She graduated from La Quinta High School in 1983. Nancy began working in the health insurance industry directly out of high school and developed that first job into a twenty year career, only stopping when her cancer treatment required it. Nancy was a loving daughter, sister and aunt. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a contagious laugh, which she brought to every family gathering. She was loyal to those she held close, forgiving to those who made mistakes and never held a grudge. Her cats Eowyn and Arwen were like her children; they were her world. She denied them nothing and loved them so very much. Nancy was well read. She was able to discuss and debate any current event as easily as she could quote the dialog from her favorite movies, the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. Since being diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer in 2015, Nancy was committed to fighting the disease and lived every day expecting to defy the odds. Despite the difficult road she traveled she remained committed to her family, desiring to participate in their lives and events for as long as she could. Only with great reluctance did she succumb to the dreadful disease. Her family and friends will always be inspired by her will to live, her passion to fight, and her unapologetic uniqueness to do it her way. She will forever be dearly missed. The funeral service is scheduled on Tuesday, December 12, at 10:30am with a reception to follow at Fairhaven Memorial Park. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Nancy’s life. We ask those attending the service to wear her favorite color - pink, the brighter the better. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to Stand Up To Cancer (www.standuptocancer.org).
