A Life of Strength, Love, and Dedication
Orlando M. Vazquez Sr. passed away peacefully on September 24, 2026, at St. Joseph Hospital in Orange, California, following a courageous 11-year battle with cancer.
For more than three decades, Orlando dedicated his professional life to St. Joseph Hospital and Mission Hospital, where he served as a construction supervisor. Known as the person everyone could depend on, he took tremendous pride in his work, helping transform hospital spaces into places of healing and care. Among his many accomplishments, one of his proudest was overseeing the transportation and installation of a towering 20-foot sculpture of St. Joseph, which would become a meaningful part of the hospital’s Orange campus.
But Orlando’s greatest accomplishments were never measured by the buildings he helped construct. They were found in the relationships he built, the family he loved, and the countless lives he touched through his kindness and generosity. Even throughout his long battle with cancer, Orlando remained devoted to those around him. He never allowed his own struggles to diminish his willingness to help others.
Orlando was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Vazquez; his parents, Victor Vazquez Sr. and Terry Vazquez; and his brother, Hugo Vazquez.
He is survived by his sons, O.J. and Luke, along with family members, friends, and loved ones who will forever cherish his memory.
Although his absence leaves an immeasurable void, Orlando’s legacy lives on in the lessons he taught, the love he shared, and the countless memories he created. He will be remembered not only for his strength in the face of adversity, but for the generosity of his spirit and the love he gave so freely.
His work may have been building places for others, but his greatest legacy was the love and foundation he built for his family.
May he rest in eternal peace, reunited with those he loved and missed so dearly.
