It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother Pauline Metz. She was born in Elmira, New York and married Carl Russell Metz in 1941. While Carl was serving in the US Army during WWII she decided to join the Army 107th WACS Detachment and agreed to serve until he was discharged. She was very proud to be able to serve her country. Their daughter, Pat, was born in 1947. She was the joy of their life. They traveled to California in 1955 on vacation and decided to relocate from New York. She had a colorful work history which included working at a bakery, a jean factory (which spark her interest in sewing), North American Avionics. She retired from GL Collins Corporation after 37 years and again from JoAnn Fabrics after 19 years. She had an amazing work ethic that was an inspiration to all who knew her. She had a unique talent of helping people in trying situations. She always had a warm and caring smile for everyone that crossed her path. She loved to sew, crochet, knit, create floral arrangements, paint, read and was willing to try any new crafting idea that captured her interest. She loved visiting Lake Powell, Lake Mead, Laughlin and recently the River house with her family. Later in life she purchased an embroidery machine from a close friend and that opened up a whole new world of crafting and creation for her. She enjoyed making fleece blankets and personalized various other items for her entire family and numerous friends. She was involved for a few years in creating red dresses with hats on mannequins for the American Heart Association Go Red Woman luncheon. It was a huge undertaking but she enjoyed it tremendously. But most of all her family brought her pure, extreme joy. Her son-in-law, Cliff, was the apple of her eye along with her two grandsons and their families. Preceded in death by her husband Carl, and her best friend in life Ruby Campbell, she is survived by her brother, Bernard Meleski and family members, numerous relatives in New York, daughter and son-in-law, Pat & Cliff Campbell, grandson, Brian Campbell, great grandchildren, Faith and Dylan Campbell, grandson and grand daughter-in-law, Jeff and Sarah Campbell, great grandchildren, Colby and Braeten Campbell and many friends that she adored. She looked forward to Christmas as it was a time for many years all of her family and friends would gather on Christmas eve. She would begin in January planning her next crafts for family and friends gifts for Christmas We will treasure the time we shared with our Mom, Grandmother and GG.
