Rene was such a special person and good friend. We went to Herndon-Barstow together and from the day I met her I had the biggest crush ever. But with that smile of hers who could blame me. You couldn't help but like her with her bubbly personality.
Even though we didn't have any contact after high school I have fond memories of her and she will always have a place in my heart. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

My deepest condolences to the Huerta & Peters Family. The 4 short years I knew Rene at Central definitely made an impact on me. She was one of the most nicest person on campus that I had a connection with. Never a harsh thought or words did I ever see or hear. Her influence on me was how to be nice. Rest in peace Rene & until we meet again.

As I say good bye to my dear friend, I find comfort in Rene’s faith and resolve. She had great strength and it was apparent throughout her life that despite great losses, she had the fortitude to pick herself up and keep going. I feel a great sadness that we will not have the pleasure of sharing one more adventure or spend time reminiscing about our “wild days” or sharing stories about our kids and grandkids.

I send my love to her family as they learn to live without their mother’s physical presence in their lives. I know they will never be without her in their memories and thoughts. I suspect the words of wisdom spoken frequently by Rene will play in their heads, just when they need a little encouragement or direction. In time, this will be a welcomed reminder that she will always be looking over them.

Rene and I shared those critical years between childhood and adulthood. My memories are full of laughter; chatter of boys, talking on the phone, having slumber parties. Rene and I shared our first dating experience; doubling so our parents would allow us to attend an FFA dinner with two boys from another school. Always, Rene brought her laughter and positivism to every conversation and gathering.

It is a special thing to have a friendship that expands a lifetime. Neither time nor distance could erase the bounds we forged and I will miss having Rene as one of the special people I am fortunate to call my friend.

A life well lived is a life remembered, and my dear friend Rene will never be forgotten.

Rene was a good friend to me growing up. She was beautiful inside & out with a very pretty smile & wonderful personality. I always admired Rene's confidence, wisdom & values. She was a great writer, an eloquent speaker, and she could tear up the dance floor! Now she is dancing in heaven with her Mom. She told me more than anything she loved being a Mother. She left us way too soon, but I feel blessed to have had her as a friend growing up in Fresno and the many happy times we laughed so hard we cried. Rest in peace my dear friend Rene, until we meet again. With love and prayers to all Rene's Family, Sharon Lucero
