Dick Preston, a Renaissance man. A mind that never stopped working. An imagination that knew no bounds. Born in Chicago March 19, 1916. Married Marian Skidmore 1938 who passed away in 2004. An ophthalmologist for over four decades, including his service in the US Army Medical Corps. Settled in Santa Ana in 1949 and resided here until his death. Adventurer, scuba diver, river runner, snowmobiler, president of the Los Angeles Adventurers Club and the Orange County Medical Association. World War II and Korean conflict veteran. Elder and trustee at First Presbyterian. Dick died peacefully at home of natural causes September 22, 2016. He is remembered and loved by family and friends as a man of many serious pursuits who never took himself too seriously. A life well lived. He is survived by two daughters, a son, six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Memorial service First Presbyterian Church of Santa Ana on Saturday, November 5 at 1:00.
