Robert (Bob) John Sanderson was born October 8, 1927 to Arthur Palvin and Ruth Marie Sanderson in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He attended North High School in Minneapolis and joined the ski team and track team. This is where he became very proficient in competitive skiing. Bob was called to serve in the Navy after he graduated high school in 1946. He was stationed in Hawaii at Pearl Harbor. He attended radio school there and became a radio/teletype operator for 2 years.

After his service was completed, he enrolled at the University of Minnesota and graduated from the American Institute of Air/Radio Announcers School. Bob soon after started at WFHR Radio Station in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. This is where Bob met his future wife, Myrtle E. Timm, who worked at a local bank. They were married on September 22nd, 1956 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kellner, Wisconsin. They were blessed with three wonderful children Kevin, Kurt and Kristin.

Bob worked in sales in the states and worldwide for various companies. His job moved him out to Wisconsin, to Colorado, then Dallas and finally to Tustin, California. He treasured the business relationships he built and many became lifelong friends. His hobbies were skiing, golfing, fishing and attending Angel games. He also enjoyed working with Bonsai trees. He enjoyed getting away to their vacation home in Palm Desert to golf and spend time with family.

He is survived by his amazing wife Myrtle of 63 years, three kids, two grandchildren, Kelsey and Kiefer, one step-grandson Kenny and one great grandchild Wesley. Bob had always looked and searched to see what adventure was “on the other side of the mountain.” Seek and ye shall find. (Matthew 7).

Till we meet again.
