

Ronald Eugene Lentz, age 80, passed away peacefully on May 26th, 2026, in Long Beach, California. Ron was born on December 21st, 1945, in Excelsior Springs, Missouri.
He is the eldest of 11 children. The family moved to Southern California when Ron was a teenager. In 1963 he graduated from Tustin High School.
Ron proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1968-1970 doing a tour of duty in Vietnam, for which he was awarded the “Air Medal” for his acts of heroism while participating in aerial flight. Following his military service, he embarked on a long and dedicated career at Hughes Helicopters, McDonnell Douglas & Boeing, located in Culver City, California and Mesa, Arizona. He worked for 39 years until his retirement in 2005. His commitment and contributions to his work left a lasting impression on those who knew him. Beyond his career, Ron found joy and fulfillment in several hobbies that reflected his adventurous spirit and curiosity. He had a passion for gold prospecting and metal detecting, spending countless hours exploring the outdoors in search of hidden treasures. He was also an avid collector of coins and currency, appreciating the history and stories behind each piece. Fishing provided him with moments of peace and connection to nature. He is survived by his beloved wife Judy; daughters Dawn and Brandi; son-in-law Bill; grandchildren Sharain, Dejah, Anthony, Nicolas (Nico); brothers Harold Denzal Jr. (Dennie), Randy, John, Bobby, Terry, Gary; sister Tammie; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his first wife Donna; mother Mary Jane; father Denzal, stepfather Robert; brother Steve; and sisters Mary Ann & Patricia Ann. Ron’s memory will be cherished by all who knew him. His legacy of dedication to family, work, and personal passions will continue to inspire those he leaves behind. May his memory bring comfort to those who loved him.
