I will always remember Dr Paul Sharma  as a kind and all so ever caring for his patients throughout 
His years as a GI doc. His wonderful bedside manner made it a treat to be his assistant in the Lab. The family and the GI community lost a real jewel and he will be remembered forever by all who knew  this  amazing physician

Working the front desk I always got to see Dr Sharma walk in. I always looked forward to seeing what color he would be wearing. One day he was wearing his yellow outfit. I told him he was like a ray of sunshine. As he was walking away he said “Yes I am!” 

He was always cheery like a ray of sunshine when he came into the office. That sunshine will be missed. 

To his children, there is nothing that prepares you for the loss of a parent. It’s an unexplainable sorrow that only another who has had that kind of loss can understand. Hugs from one of those that understands. 


Dr. Sharma was always so kind to me.  I will never forget his joyful spirit.  He was one of a kind.

I was over beyond blessed and honored to be Dr Sharma's personal Medical Assistant for over 13 years until 2022. I had SO MUCH LOVE and RESPECT for Dr Sharma . I will always remember him coming in to clinic in the afternoon  with such a positive attitude and very cheerful. No matter what kind of day he had he would always be smiling. I would go in to his office he would look at me and he was already smiling. His smile was contagious.. He had a heart of gold I'll always remember his kindness . A light has gone out of our lives, but the love he gave will shine forever. Dr Sharma thank you for all the beautiful memories . I work at CVG and I am also the Medical Assistant to Dr Patrick Truong.
I have had the Pleasure to Work with All of Our GI Physicians! Especially Dr Suresht P. Sharma  whom we all Love and Miss! His Legacy will live on Forever here at CVG and in Our Hearts as well!
 He always looked sharp in his favorite suit! He always had a smile that was contagious! He was so loving and giving to everyone! He Loved his Family and was Proud of all of there accomplishments!❤️
 One of my fond memories of him was always making his coffee around 4pm everyday and sometimes I would give him a small piece of cake or a cookie and say I know your not suppose to have this but “Don’t tell Mrs.Sharma” she would be really upset with me as he Giggled So Loud you can hear it echoing in the office! He was well Loved and Very Respected and I Will Miss working Dr. Suresht P. Sharma!

Palli Jijaji was such a kind and warm-hearted person, always greeting one with a smile and a joke, and I don’t think he ever forgot anyone’s name. He was so welcoming, and it seemed as if his house was open to all and at all times, and he showed how much he enjoyed and loved meeting people. I have no doubt his patients were so fortunate.
He will be so missed, and leaves so many wonderful memories, not just for his family, but all those who met him.

I had the pleasure of working at GDDI very briefly a few years ago, Dr. Sharma always arrived with a smile, a positive attitude and a funny saying to make the whole room laugh and smile. Paul was full of compassion, kindness & genuine care for his patients, his family  & his colleagues. I will never forget his hospitality in inviting us to Ghazal evening with Mehdi Hasan & Ghulam Ali at his home. Paul and I had eye surgery on the same day & when he found out that I was there in the recovery room, he forgot about himself & started asking about me & his humor & wit lit up the room. I woke up early 3 am  7/1/23 and tears were flowing. I believed all my tears have dried up by now but not really

Want to share my time with Pali when I visited him about 3 weeks ago. 

He said and I am quoting him. I have no regrets, I have done all my duties in life towards my family. Time has come for me to leave this body. This is my destiny. I am calm and not worried about death. Dr Gill who is family friend and his cancer surgeon was there with me by my side. He told me that I have not met a person like him, so brave and  calm in this situation

I am still grieving but I know intellectually that it is not time to grieve. It is time to celebrate his life, his goodness, his generosity, his ever smiling face, his willingness to help anyone who needed help. There are so many things I want to write, but I will end here

Dr. Sharma was one of the most generous, loving, kindest man, I have ever met. No matter how hectic his day was, he always had a smile on his face and a positive attitude. It was a great pleasure to know, work with and learn so much from him. The Foothill GI Lab will never be the same without him. We love him and will miss him dearly.

Pali has left me with our great memories 
I will cherish his last flight memory with me to Amritsar and back to USA in November of 2022. We had about 2 weeks together in India

I also remember that we had great time in Malaysia with his cousin family and spent more than one month. This was our first flight of our life which we took together in 1972

All his memories will live with me for rest of my life. I miss him  sooo much!!!!!!

When I think of Dr. Sharma, my mind is flooded with memories of shared laughter and countless lessons learned. There wasn’t a day working in clinic that we weren’t laughing. He also took the time to teach me medicine from the basics before starting medical school, and for that I could never thank him enough.  From day one, he took on a mentor role and continuously supported me through my own medical journey.  I will always cherish his infectious smile, vibrant suits, teaching skills and kind soul. I will hold on to the bond we shared, and as I continue down the path he helped me paved, I can only hope to emulate a fraction of the physician he was and make him proud. I am sending all of my love to the Sharma family, the rest of CVG family, and biggest of hugs to Mrs. Sharma during this time.

Suresht Paul Sharma , I always addressed him as Pali was not only my life time best friend, but a great human being, with great compassion and love for all the people he came across in his life.

I don’t have words to describe his kindness. He had what I call a big hearted person who lived his life from his heart . He enjoyed his life to the fullest, was very fun loving and cared for not his close family but also extended family and friends. He treated his friends like his family and all this was natural to him. 

There are so many memories of him, too many to describe. I will always miss him. And his memories will live for ever with me

I pray for him that his soul rest in peace. I feel that he is still here. I know that he has left his body and his soul is around us. Grief is too much, too hard to bear . I know life moves on but this world for me will never be same

  Dr. Sharma was one of my favorite doctors to work with. He was highly respected by his colleagues. He was kind, so intelligent and a very hard worker. In 1963 summer, Pali and Deepak Arora
joined Deepak Kapur in 9th grade at the DAV School at Haathi Gate, Amritsar, our
birthplace. Little did we know that this encounter would
forge a bond that would stay forever.

Even though we competed in academics trying to beat each other for
the top spot, we were a formidable team together, competing
in first aid, general knowledge and other competitions.

Pali was an extraordinary individual, a true embodiment of
versatility. Pali excelled in all spheres. He was a great singer,
entertaining us with Ramta songs.  In sports also, he won top spots. His
remarkable prowess inspired awe.

We went for numerous competition to
Rohtak, Gurgaon, Jalalndhar, Delhi and Hyderabad, where
we lived together without our families. Those
were the formative years of our youth where we reveled in shared
laughter and sorrows, celebrated successes and endured rare defeats.
These experiences shaped our characters forever.

Our paths diverged as we pursued different disciplines—Pali and
Deepak A. studying medicine while Deepak K. went for engineering
at IIT, Kanpur. Whenever we returned to Amritsar for holidays, we
would spend more time with Pali than our respective
families. When Pali and Deepak A. visited Deepak K. during his
illness last August, we would reminisce about various events in
our past, including our first planeride to Kashmir in 1969,
playfully correcting each other's details.

Pali was so athletic throughout his life which made us opine that
he would outlast us. We were shocked and sorry to hear about his
illness from Ashoki in May. It was so nice to get a phone call
from Pali in mid June and hear his voice and watch him teaching
bhangra to nurses.

As we bid farewell to our dear friend Pali, we already feel a sense
of longing and will continue to miss him.
May your soul rest in peace, our friend.

During his life time Always I have seen him with smiling face under all circumstances.Besides his medical practice he loved to be on Golf ground always even by ignoring minor health issues,I know some people cheated him with money When I raised alarm he simply ignored  such a generous man , he was an angel in the form of human being .He had extremely successful self made life . According to Hindu religion and philosophy with these  kind of Karmas God has Only Heaven for him, We always pray for the peace of departed soul,His face is in my heart and mind 24.7 , it has become   very hard  to forget him , I will miss him until the last day of my life.

Dr sharma never walked into GDDI without the biggest smile on his face, he also loved all of the attention he got as soon as he was there, every day he’d say hi to everyone and call us all his ladies. He never got mad, even on bad or busy days, he just loved to be there. His golf days were stressful for everyone but there was always an invitation welcome to join him at the “19th hole”. This picture holds a very fond and special memory with Dr. Sharma.  I remember it was a Wednesday afternoon clinic and the day we all decided to “match” scrub colors with Dr. Sharma. He walked into the clinic laughing and told us he could not find his burgundy pants so he wore his other favorite purple pants. Later that afternoon Mrs. Sharma tells us his burgandy pants were freshly dry-cleaned and hanging in his closet. Dr. Sharma began laughing so much because he admitted that he didn’t look as well as he should have. I am so happy that I had the privilege to work alongside Dr. Sharma as one of his medical scribes. He helped me not only navigate the world of Gastroenterology but also life. Dr. Sharma had a loving and kind soul. He was truly a one of a kind doctor. My prayers are with his family and loved ones at this difficult time.

My last meeting with him was during our medical batch reunion in Nov2022 at Amritsar, when we celebrated our 50 years of passing out from the Amritsar Medical college. He performed a very entertaining dance and song item there. Next morning we had tea at my home. Little did I know that this is the last time I shall be seeing him. Pali you will not be physically present , but you will always be in my heart and memory. May you find peace in the external life.
