Salvador Rodriguez, Jr., passed away on Friday, March 8, 2019, in the City of Orange. He is survived by his life-partner of 37 years, Kathy; his daughter, Sonja Arbogast; his son, Scott Rodriguez; granddaughters, Vanessa Ormiston, Marissa Ormiston and Amber Arbogast and his grandson, Justin Arbogast; his sisters, Gloria Abrams and Margaret Meyers and his younger brother, Bill and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, Salvador, Sr. and Concha, his sister Dolores and his grandson, Evan.
Sal was born on December 18, 1945. He lived most of his life in the City of Orange. He graduated from Orange High School in 1964. He was a proud member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 582 since 1970.
Sal loved gardening, camping, fishing and most sports. He enjoyed watching baseball and was an avid Angel fan. He also enjoyed watching football, being a long time Charger fan. He has also been a Las Vegas Knights fan since their inception, attending his first Pro hockey game with his daughter and grandchildren in Vegas.
Sal loved his family and friends and most of his friends became family. He and Kathy loved traveling to Cancun every year since 1988 and they enjoyed taking the grandchildren to Cancun once they turned 10 for their first trip abroad. He also traveled extensively on the Pacific Coast of Mexico when he was younger with both his family and friends. He was devoted to Kathy, his children and his grandchildren. They all held a special place in his life and his heart. He enjoyed listening to the kids stories and telling them his. He loved being my partner, a Dad and a PaPa. He was also very excited about becoming a Great PaPa with the birth of his first great grandchild this coming August.
Sal was also very proud of his chosen profession as a Journeyman Plumber for 49 years, retiring in 2008. He was passionate about each and every project he worked on, from the Santa Ana Federal Building to Disneyland. He enjoyed passing along his knowledge of the trade to his apprentices, Sal was very proud of their success as journeymen. Legacy was very important to Sal and he truly enjoyed being a plumber and leaving his mark.
He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him but we know we will be with him again someday in heaven.
Services to be held on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 2:30 p.m., at Fairhaven Memorial Park. Committal Service to follow immediately after.
